Hardest work I ever done, Was workin' on the farm, Easiest work I ever done, Was rollin’ in your arms. Swing and turn, Jubilee, Live and learn, Jubilee. If I had no horse to ride, You might find me crawlin' Up and down this rocky road, Lookin' for my darlin'. Swing and turn, Jubilee, Live and learn, Jubilee. If I had a needle and thread, As fine as I could sew, I'd sew my true love to my side And down the river we’d flow. Swing and turn, Jubilee, Live and learn, Jubilee. I don’t want no widow man, And neither would my cousin. You can get such stuff as that, For fifteen cents a dozen. Swing and turn, Jubilee, Live and learn, Jubilee. Some will come on a Sat'day night, Some will come on Sunday; If you give 'em half a chance They'll come again on Monday. Swing and turn, Jubilee, Live and learn, Jubilee. Coffee grows on a white oak tree, Sugar runs in brandy, Girls are sweet as a lump of gold, Boys as sweet as candy. Swing and turn, Jubilee, Live and learn, Jubilee. It's all out on the old railroad, It's all out on the sea. All out on the old railroad, As far as I can see. Swing and turn, Jubilee, Live and learn, Jubilee. Swing and turn, Jubilee, Live and learn, Jubilee.

about

The folk song "Swing And Turn, Jubilee" serves as the basis for the "Farmer/Veteran" soundtrack, created by Phil Cook. This is an old standard appalachian party song or "zipper verse" song. A live version was recorded in 1963 by Jean Ritchie and Doc Watson. Another version was recorded by Carolyn Hester on Columbia Records, featuring a young Bob Dylan on harmonica. Alexandra Sauser-Monning and Amelia Meath performed the song live as a duo, when Cook first heard the track.
